Laura Bell Bundy Lands Recurring Role on How I Met Your Mother

Laura Bell Bundy has landed a recurring role on How I Met Your Mother, Entertainment Weekly reports.

The 29-year-old Broadway actress and country singer will play Robin's new co-host on Metro News One; Robin's co-anchor/boyfriend Don moved away for a new job in the season finale.

Bundy is best known for her roles in the Broadway adaptations of Hairspray and Legally Blonde, as well as her recently released country album Achin' and Shakin'.

Her first single, "Giddy On Up", debuted on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart at 60 for the chart week of February 20, 2010. The single was made into a music video, which was directed by Shane Drake. A remix of the song debuted at 46 on the U.S. Billboard Dance/Club Play Songs chart for the week of April 10, 2010. She also performed the song on the 2010 Academy of Country Music Awards, where it was done in the style of the music video.

Her debut album, achin 'and nothing new on April 13, 2010 release. It debuted on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart 5, and 28 billboards all types 200. Since June 26, 2010, the album has sold over 70,000 copies of the United States.
